Fine
Art For Health endeavors to develop art programs for healthcare facilities
in which patients, their families, and visitors receive positive diversions
that would give them a few moments of relief in a potentially stressful
or frightening situation.
Fine art images are the patient’s
focal points. Research shows science-based
evidence that viewing nature imagery, for example, is an adjunct to
the healing process (See www.healthdesign.org). It reduces systolic
blood pressure and pulse, helps to redirect negative thought and allows
for a beneficial passage of time, while decreasing boredom. Furthermore,
a relaxed patient is more receptive and consequently more responsive
to treatment. When fine art is viewed during treatment, patients are
less likely to squirm or fidget, helping to avoid costly repeat treatment.
We
are committed to providing fine art programs that will add solace, inspiration
and hope, indispensable elements of the balanced healthcare environment.
